Your first visit to the Hypnotherapy clinic
The first appointment takes a little longer, as we get you to complete a form and then you describing in detail what it is you want to change. I will discuss this with you to make sure I understand what you are wanting to achieve. We look at other factors that may be affecting the problem, things like, how long have you had the problem, when did it start, what are habits around what you want to change, are there medications which may affect you etc.. Then I’ll explain hypnosis, what it can and can’t do, and after discussing what to expect, and then I will ask you if you want to proceed.
You’ll sit or lie down and will close your eyes, what you will most likely feel is amazingly relaxed, most people just want to go on lying there and enjoying this wonderful feeling as the hypnotherapist guides you into a gentle hypnotic alpha state of mind (heightened awareness with deep relaxation). Here?s the thing -you don’t have to do anything, and you can’t do anything wrong, the appointment doesn’t depend on any special skill you have to have. All your asked to do is relax, discuss, talk a bit and listen.
Our clinic sessions are designed to re-enforce positive change and help you establish new habits, and enable you to become more relaxed in everyday things, what ever it is you want to achieve. If there are specific problems we can discuss and see what the best approach, they also may diminish even though we may not work on them but more because of the nature of hypnotherapy, it helps reduce stress in a persons life, and often triggers the mind and body to re-balance in other areas.
